Anastasiya Svirkova

Anastasiya came from Belarus. She graduated in 2006 from the Belarusian State University. She studied Chemistry with the specialization in Chemistry of High Molecular Compounds.  While writing her master thesis “Synthesis and investigation of degradation processes of polylactides”, she studied biodegradable polymers applied in medicine. Then Anastasiya worked for 5 years at the Belarusian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education, where she was collecting experiences in the field of biochemistry. The main research interests were in the development methods of diagnostic of metabolic disorders and investigation kidney stones.

Inspired of Austria’s nature and scientific possibility of TU Wien Anastasiya joined us in January 2014. She is involved in the PhD program named "Molecular and Elemental Imaging in Biosciences (MEIBio)". Within her doctoral project “Mass Spectrometry Imaging and Fluorescence Imaging of Polymers Surfaces after Contact with Biological Fluids” she combines imaging methods of analysis with the investigation of polymers.
